Macro Economics and Health
Macroeconomics and Health (MEH) is a nongovernmental organization established as of the Order No.52 by the Justice and Internal Affairs Minister issued on March 6 2008. In addition, the MEH received a permission to organize in-service trainings on health economics on the basis of joint Order No.182/229 issued by the Minister of Health and Minister of Education, Culture and Science. Further, on April 3 2009, we received the updated state registration Certificate to continue our activities.
“Macroeconomics and Health” operates on a permanent basis with full time staff and as well as members. The Management Board is composed of eight experts with doctoral and postgraduate degrees in medical science and economics. Moreover, there are about thirty voluntary members who provide active supports to MEH activities.
Main objective of “Macroeconomics and Health” aims to analyze Mongolia’s socio-economic situations and challenges and study long-term trends and projections and to provide policy-makers and civil society with sound evidence based findings and policy recommendations.
“Macroeconomics and Health” cooperates closely with relevant ministries, government agencies and international organizations to implement short-term projects and studies. We have been participating in various efforts implemented and supported by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, Culture and Science within WHO, ADB, UNDP, Open Society Institute, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, EQUITAP and APHNAN initiatives.
